I came to private practice the long way around. After law school I spent years working for the State of New York, then for labor unions, hospitals, and legal service organizations, representing people who needed someone in their corner and often could not afford one. That work taught me how the law actually lands on ordinary lives, and it shaped the kind of lawyer I wanted to be. Now that my children are grown, I can give my clients the attention they deserve, so I opened the Law Office of Edith Diaz to practice the way I believe law should be practiced: one client at a time, with straight answers and no meter running.
